OPERATING MEMORY

Operating memory is another integral part of computers, laptops, and all devices equipped with a processor. Main memory, also called RAM (from the English “Random Access Memory”) is used to store computing. As its name makes clear, this is a random access memory. After turning off the PC, RAM loses all data. Operating memory is divided into several types - DDR, DDR2, DDR3 and DDR4. DDR and DDR2 are older types that are no longer supported by manufacturers.

DDR3 is the most common type. A very important parameter is the operating frequency, which is indicated by the motherboard chipset. These memory modules are manufactured in units of gigabytes. What makes DDR3 memory better than DDR2 is its working frequency. DDR3 memory operates at much higher frequencies with lower power consumption.

There are completely different categories of memory in notebooks, which carry labeling SODIMM. As for performance, they are comparable to conventional modules. The only difference is their smaller size necessary to save space. The best-known manufacturers of operating memory include the companies: Corsair, Kingston, Patriot, and ADATA.
